The September Lunar Eclipse:

September 6, 2015

This is the time of year when we experience the lessons of the eclipse. My teacher tells us the eclipse requires us to grow up and mature. It asks us to let go of things we no longer need. This is a particularly interesting eclipse as it hits me directly!

As an astrologer, it tends to be the one thing I overlook time after time yet it is so important. I was reminded how important in the last few weeks. Many of us are experiencing these “gifts” of the present eclipse.

The areas of astrology most affected are 4 degrees of cardinal (Libra, Aries, Capricorn, Cancer), but those affected can be within 5 degrees either way of that point. As my teacher puts it, the closer it hits you the more tissue boxes you will need! The dials let us readily see other important aspects that fall within what we refer to as the axis.

In this axis we also have 19 degrees of fixed (Scorpio, Aquarius, Leo, Taurus) as well as Cardinal 26-27 degrees (Libra, Aries, Capricorn, Cancer) and 12-14 degrees of mutable (Sagittarius, Gemini, Virgo, Pisces). What does this signify?

Let’s start by looking at what falls in the Sun/Moon axis points for the current transits. We see relationships will be one of the big topics. (Juno) This includes everything from fairness to finances, down to whether or not each person is hearing the other. There will be much sadness and tears in and about relationships. This has been in effect since early July! The actual hit of eclipse is on Sept 28!!!

It can indicate a time when some people will chose to die. Remember, the eclipse asks us to let go of things we no longer need to hold onto, and for some it can mean life itself. But it isn’t all about dying—in some cases it will give couples and partnerships a chance to get on better ground and stabilize themselves. This energy of Juno runs through many things, as I pointed out above. There could be more distance in a relationship literally or even physically. I could go on and on as this has great impact.

I should add Atlantis falls in this axis as well so there will be much pessimism. I want to remind you that pessimism can be its own issue. Try not to fall into the traps of pessimism. I always like to keep in mind pessimism is just energy, but very often it is not a reality. There are bad things going on no doubt, but it is not all bad. In astrology we have a saying that nothing is bad or good, it just is and all of it is a lesson.

In the case of an eclipse, it is to enable people the ability to make stronger relationships of all kinds, to look at what one has to deal with realistically and practically. With this said we continue to the second part of this article—how it affected me and what that means to you!
